Neath - Port talbot in its commitment to develop its facilities for the local community are developing a state of the art holistic relaxation experience. The Inshape Fitness Studio will open at the Afan Lido in April and will offer:
- 70 Stations of Cardiovascular and Strength equipment
- Cardio Theatre
- Spinning Area
- Toning Area
all in a fully air conditioned environment.
The Aqua Spa, another new development at the Afan Lido opened to the public earlier this year.
You can either visit the Aqua Spa on a ‘Pay and Play’ basis or become a regular and join the membership programme.
The steam room produces humidity and a temperature of over 45 degrees C which promotes a sense of well-being and may prove an excellent therapy for certain medical ailments such as asthma, rheumatism, bronchitis, gout, muscle strains and blood circulation disorders.
The sauna will produce a dry heat which promotes perspiration, opens the pores and deeply cleanses the skins.
The spa directs gentle jets of water that help to ease stress and soothe away aches and pains by gentle massaging the body.
You may also relax on the chairs and lounger, read the papers, have a snooze or generally unwind.
Individual changing facilities offer privacy for all. The centre offers disabled access.
